OK, so this is going to be short and sweet. I just typed a 3 page blog and when i clicked Post This Entry, it magically dissappeared.

My mom got married to an awesome guy last week. They are so good for each other and they are the best of friends. They are currently finishing remodeling their house. They have gorgeous house on a beautiful piece of land in Washougal, on the Gorge. I will take some pics when they are all done.

The Bride and Groom:

My grandma, who is the most amazing woman I have ever met, had heart surgery today. She is extremely healthy and very smart. Being that she is 83, her heart valves were simply wearing out. She told us over the weekend that she would be having surgery today. Yesterday, she had an angiogram to see if she needed any bypass while they had her open. This obviously came up clean as a whistle. Up until a year ago, she could easily hike 5 miles in the mountains. My grandma has even hiked to the top of Mt. Hood. Quite an accomplishment. She worked for the US Forest Service for some 30 years until she retired.

My Grandma and Mom @ the Wedding:

My grandma means the world to me. She is like a second mom to me. My mom, brother, sister and I lived with her for many years when I was a kid. She took us kids on summer vacations all over North America, every year. She really is a very special person to me. She has never had a mean thing to say about anyone, ever. She is very educated and articulate. She has more integrity than anyone I will ever meet.

My Niece, Grandma and Claire, Yesterday:

She went into surgery this morning and made it through like a champ. She is recovering very well for her age (83). I was able to see her 12pm while she was still asleep. At 5 when I got off work, I went back and was able to talk to her. She is really a trooper.
