I Have Now Seen It All ![]() The other night on my way home from work, as I was getting off of the MAX at Pioneer Courthouse Square, I noticed something strange. Parked right next to Starbucks was this truck with "Travel to Mexico" painted on it. The trailer had plexi-glass walls and had a bright light inside. I went towards the light like an insect attracted to a Bug Zapper. Inside this trailer were 3 very tan women in bikinis and a guy giving one of them a massage. The other 2 were playing volleyball. The floor was 2 inches of sand. It was all a promotion to vacation in Mexico. It is really a clever idea, I guess. The strange thing is that it was like 25 degrees, 6pm in downtown Portland. This thing was so popular there were dads with their sons sitting on the benches watching this. They were even selling concessions. The majority of the audience were some of the "usual" people you see hanging all day at the square. The thing that got me upset is that it was parked no more than 50 yards from Portland's beautiful Christmas Tree. I mean this is supposed to be a time of year for families to be out shopping downtown and doing Christmas stuff. It was just weird.
