Tom Petty Rocks

So Jamie and I went to see Tom Petty @ the Gorge Amphitheatre on this past Friday, the 2nd. We went with my sister Heidi & her husand Dustin, our friends Eli & Shannon and Gretchen & Travis. The Gorge is the best venue I have ever been to. The sound is superb and the seating is ample, even with a sold out 20,000 person crowd. The scenery is gorgeous. Check the picture on the Gorge homepage. It sits on a cliff on the beautiful Columbia River gorge. Jamie and I have been lucky enough to see the likes of Dave Mathews Band, Phil Lesh & Friends and also Bob Dylan there. Hands down Tom Petty was the best show we have ever been to, even though beers are $8 a can. Tom Petty has not lost his touch. He can put on a show like no other. His guitarist kicks butt and heck his whole band (The Heartbreakers) were all top notch. The show lasted till midnight or so and will never be forgotten.

We stayed Friday and Saturday nights at Potholes State Park. The park is about 45 minutes from the amphitheatre and is situated on beautiful Potholes Reservoir. Dustin and I  rented a Waverunner w/ a wakeboard all day saturday. That thing was awesome. I hadn't ridden one in about 5 years and forgot how fast 50 mph feels on water. We really had a blast with that thing and are sincerely considering each buying one and going halves on a trailer for them.

That weekend was pretty much a birthday/anniversary present from my sister and her husband to Jamie and I. Thank you guys for an awesome weekend!
